Living Ocean Tours · Coral Kai
A full graphics redesign for the Coral Kai, the dive boat run by Living Ocean Tours. The art had to read from shore and hold up to salt and sun.

Problem
Redesign the boat graphics for Living Ocean Tours’ dive boat, the Coral Kai. Marine graphics live a hard life: they’re seen from a distance across the water and take constant salt spray and sun.
Process
The client supplied the artwork, but not in a finished, print-ready form, so I reworked and replaced elements and rebuilt the overall layout. Tribal-style honu, dolphins and fish schools run from deep ocean blue at the bow into a sunrise at the stern, ending with the Hawaiian island chain. Each hull panel was laid out with its panel and bleed lines. Then the entire wrap was printed on the Canon wide-format printer.
Result
The finished wrap was installed on the Coral Kai, shown below at the dock in Honolulu Harbor. The top image is the full design on the mockup.
